This program
is still in beta, but it's looking like this is going to be
a great resource. I am still checking this out, but I will
post more information later. Check it out and see what you
think.
Download
Picasa from Google Here
You
have got to install this and check it out! I have used many
photo editing programs of the the years, but the one I am
about to share with you has been my all time favorite. Best
of all this software is free!
Not only does Picasa have a good set of basic photo
editing tools, but it will find and organize all of the
photos on your computer. Even better, for no charge at all,
you can post your pictures on your very own website for
friends and family to view and download to their computer. I
use Picasa to host photos and videos for three of my
websites by linking the Picasa pages to pages in the
websites. check it out:
www.rideforjesus.com,
www.littlecreekhorsefarm.com, and
www.thesmokymountaingallery.com.
Here is my Picasa webiste:
http://picasaweb.google.com/bvwoody
I use Picasa to put photos that I am working on up on
the internet so I can reach them from the office, or if I
happen to be at another place of business, I can pull photos
down and use them without having to carry jump drives or
cd's. When I an working on a group of photos, I just upload
them to Picasa and mark them as private so only I can see
them.
There is no way for met to explain all of the benefits of
Picasa, it would take too much space. I'll just leave it at
this. I would have paid good money for this software if it
hadn't have been free! Do you need a
website for your business, but don't know much about web
design and don't have a lot of money?
I received an e-mail from Microsoft Office Live the other
day advertising a free business website. I decided to check
it out. Everything was automated from their website! EASY!
They will give you a domain name with your website or you
can purchase your own.
I decided to purchase my own. The first year was free.
Here is what I was able to accomplish in just about an hour.
Judge for your self:

Here is the link where you can sign up for your
own free website from Microsoft Office Live.
Download Adobe Photoshop LightRoom free 30
day Trial

What
can I say! WOW! If your are into serious photo editing you
need to download this software and check it out! This newest
version has all the best photo editing Adobe has to offer
for the Photographer. I have used Photshop for years with
great results, but Photoshop was designed with the graphic
artist in mind. LightRoom, on the other hand, was designed
to fit the workflow of the profession photographer.
I created the slide shows on the main menu of this
website with a copy of the free 30 day trial download. The
way the software is set up, it only takes a few minutes to
pick the photos from your library, and poof! Instant web
slide show! It's really that easy! Pretty cool huh? The
software is packed with cool features like this.
I highly recommend this software. Check out the videos

A must read for every Photographer who uses Photoshop
I was looking
through some used books at a used book sale and found a
little gold mine for $3. This was the best $3 I think I
have ever spent! If you want to learn how to make your
photographs really stand out with Photoshop, but you
don't have a lot of time to spend reading 600 page
books, this is the Photoshop book for you! I have
learned more, and faster from this little book, that any
other book on Photoshop I have ever read.
The book
"Scot Kelby's 7-Point System for Adobe Photoshop"
takes you through a hands on learning experience that
will embed in your memory the steps in Photoshop to make
your images the best they can be. I highly recommend
this book to any Photoshop user, even someone who has
never used Photoshop.

Would you like to have 24 hour access to a super qualified
trainer to teach you how to use Photoshop, Lightroom,
Microsoft Office, and hundreds of other applications. Well
my friend, I can help you!
When I purchased Photoshop CS3 Extended from Adobe,
they sent an e-mail thanking me for my purchase. As a gift,
they offered a choice of several valuable items for free.
The one I chose was free online training for 30 days at
www.lynda.com.
I
have to tell you, this website is great! I have already went
through bout 20 hours of training in the last few days! Only
$25 a month you can access all the video training you can
handle! This is soooooo much cheaper that taking classes at
your nearest community college. The nice thing is that you
can take the classes in your underwear at 3:00 AM if you
want!
I have went through the video training from
Learn Key
on Photoshop, (very expensive), and these training
videos are put together jus a good and Learn Key's.
Check it out and see what you think. If you know of
other websites similar to this one, send me an e-mail at
bvwoody@pstcc.edu and
I will share them on this blog as well.

Check out Digital Darkroom!

I came across this
software a couple months ago. So far I am really impressed.
I was able to make a website, post nice portfolios, and take
orders by check or credit card in about one day. You can see
how I used the free version
(download here) to sell photos from my website here:

You can see a demo of the software here
(click here for demo). Error using Photoshop 6.0 filters with CS3
After installing
Photoshop CS3 I copied my old filter files from my
installation of Photshop 6.0 to Photoshop CS3, ( Program
Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins\Filters\Added
Filters),The next time I opened Photpshop CS3 the
program would not run. I got an error message that said the
file Msvcrt10.dll could not be found.
I did a search for the
file and found it in c:\program files\adobe\Photoshop
6.0. After I copied this file to the install directory
for CS3 everything works fine now. Here is a copy of the
file if you need to do the same thing:
Download
Msvsrt10.dll
